At Bepulo, we choose materials with durability, performance and everyday use in mind.

Our goal is not to claim perfection. It is to reduce reliance on conventional petroleum-based plastics where practical, while creating a toothbrush designed to stay in your bathroom for years.

A durable aluminium handle

The Bepulo Next has an aluminium outer body selected for its durability, solid feel and resistance to everyday wear.

The handle contains the battery, motor, waterproof seals and electronic components required for a reliable electric toothbrush. It is designed to be kept, with only the brush head replaced over time.

Plant-based brush heads

Our brush-head bodies are made from PLA, a material produced using renewable plant-based ingredients such as corn starch.

The medium bristles are made from bio-based nylon derived from castor oil. They are secured using copper staples, without glue.

Together, these materials help reduce reliance on conventional petroleum-based plastics while still providing the durability needed for daily brushing.

What plant-based means

Plant-based refers to the renewable feedstocks used to produce the material.

Our brush-head bodies are made from PLA derived from plant sugars, while the bristles use bio-based nylon derived from castor oil. This reduces reliance on conventional petroleum-based feedstocks while maintaining the durability required for daily brushing.

The finished brush heads are still manufactured materials and are not designed for household composting or kerbside recycling.

Australian-made wall holder

The included wall holder is made in Australia from plant-derived PLA.

It keeps the toothbrush upright, easy to reach and off the bathroom bench.

FSC-certified packaging

Our current packaging uses FSC-certified paper and board, supporting more responsibly managed forest sources.

Bepulo Loop

Used Bepulo brush heads can be returned through Bepulo Loop.

Our aim is to recover and process the materials for future bathroom accessories rather than treating the heads as disposable or compostable.

More considered, not perfect

Electric toothbrushes require batteries, electronics, waterproof seals and specialised materials.

Our approach is simple: use more considered materials where they can perform properly, be transparent about their limitations and design the main toothbrush handle to last.
