Step 1: Extracting Nature’s Power

The story begins with the castor bean plant (Ricinus communis) — a resilient crop that thrives in dry regions and doesn’t compete with food sources.The beans are cold-pressed to extract castor oil, which is rich in fatty acids and completely renewable.

Unlike petroleum, castor plants can be regrown season after season, making them a clean and sustainable raw material for eco design.

Step 2: Turning from Plant Oil into Bristles

Through a process called polymerisation, castor oil-derived raw materials are transformed into Polyamide 10.10 (PA10.10) — a high-performance bio-based nylon used in premium toothbrush bristles.

PA10.10 delivers the durability, flexibility and consistency required for everyday brushing while reducing reliance on petroleum-based plastics.

Once produced, the PA10.10 is melted and extruded into fine filaments, creating the smooth, durable bristles used in every Bepulo brush head.
